Rachel is a registered Nurse, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, and academic with 20yrs clinical experience working within the NHS, and Higher education Institutions.
Rachel is driving forward education agenda in her role as head of partnerships at LSBU in Nursing and Midwifery by leading health collaborations with the NHS and partners to develop and deliver speciality high quality and applied accredited education.
Her PhD research is focused on the use of XR in post graduate and undergraduate health education. Rachel has already undertaken an unpublished theoretical investigation (Allen-Ashcroft 2016-2019) creating the VR and AR software for the lungs with a supporting downloadable APP for mobile devices. This was developed to improve the way students can conceptualise the anatomy and landmarks relating to clinical examination, this also includes the clinical findings on examination in normality and with pathological changes.
